It's here!!!

My machine finally came!  This is so exciting!  It's so pretty and pink.  The bowl is a little smaller than I anticipated but thats okay...it can be worked around.  I also found a local distributor for the sugar.  It is so much cheaper to get it here than on the net and have it shipped.  Now the next step is to figure out how to use it!

SALE, SALE, SALE

I LOVE SALES!!  Maybe its just a woman thing, but when you walk away from the store with bags full of a killer sale it is the best!  I mean its just like a permanent smile is on your face!  I just went to Bellevue Square to see about the Victorias Secret Semi-Annual sale (FYI-that has totally lost its thrill....I used to have the day marked on the calendar for that-so sad!) and of course there was nothing there so I headed downstairs to see what the Bath and Body Works sale had left.  And lo and behold-90% OFF!  YES-it's the gold at the end of the rainbow.  Their soap was only $0.45-$0.50 a bottle.  Loi and I are going to have clean, anti-bacterial, moisturized hands for years to come!!  They also had the cutest reindeer candles, and candles in a jar for 90% off!  I can't tell you the rest of the stuff I got because most of you will probably receive it for some gift this year!!  Hahaha!  I LOVE SALES!  (Loi just didnt get it!)

Hello 2010....

Ugh-back to the real world.  It was so much fun being at home with family, and to just relax and be around what is familiar (and not thinking of work at all).  Leaving home after christmas is bittersweet.....cause its so tough leaving after you've been home and get back into the mode of how your life used to be but there is also anticipation of the coming year and all of those wonderful new years resolutions that you made that you are absolutely going to keep this time!  It should be a good year....I have the HIPO program starting, I am bound and determined to get the house/storage area cleaned out and organized, we are venturing into the unknowns of the small business world and we have already started making plans for our next vacation.  Of course saying and doing are two totally seperate things....but at least the list is started and sometimes that's half the battle.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Hope everybody had a wonderful thanksgiving-I absolutely did.  I have so much to be thankful about-my wonderful family and friends, my wonderful job and my wonderful life.  I have nothing to complain about and everything to thank God for!  Hope you all have just as much to love and just as little to not!

the female engineer chronicles

Oh man it feels so good to be right sometimes!  That sounds arrogant but its soooo justified in some situations. 
So women still only make up ~18% of the total number of engineers in the workforce.  I guess its pretty obvious to see that.....just look around the workplace.  It's a male dominated world, but that's okay, the females are still trying and our numbers go up each year, its progress.  It's just so tough to prove yourself in the middle of not only the male dominance but all the massive experience.  So, you know, when the day goes well and I can stand my ground when I think I'm right and then have someone else confirm that........it feels pretty good!!  I'm relishing the moment!  YAY-I really can be an engineer! Take that glass ceiling.  =0)
